Evening Brew
The Sky Is Falling--Should You Talk About It
With each natural disaster, celebrity passing, national event or tragedy, or even just niche holidays, we see brands poking their noses where they potentially don't belong. In an effort to build up brand awareness and appear relevant, brands too often force a circle into a square, trying to make their brand mold into whatever event is taking place. And we all want to avoid being that brand.
But how do you know? How do you know when it's a time to speak up or a time to stay silent? And what if your brand says nothing and misses a critical brand moment...and even potentially garners criticism because of it?
Maggie Spain from The Bawmann Group, a marketing agency in Denver that also focuses on crisis communications and media relations, will be talking to our group about how to differentiate when your brand needs to speak up or "STFU". She will cover some successes, some certain failures, and some golden rules and questions to ask yourself before your brand makes a statement about an unusual event.
Join us at Image Brew! We will begin networking at 5:30 with snacks and drinks, followed by our presentation at 6:30 PM. Bring business cards and questions, as well as something to take notes with!
